I needed to drive 12 hours in a day to get to a job interview. After driving 10 hours, I ran into a freak snowstorm on an unpopulated rural area. I was a Southern Californian woman who had never driven in the snow, had no chains, and didn’t own a cell phone. Night had fallen and the only person I had seen for miles was a man stopped by the road putting chains on his pick-up truck. I panicked. I didn’t know if I was more terrified of slipping off the mountain road or of possibly being attacked by someone whom I might ask for help.

At the time, I had recently met Datta and didn’t quite understand what a Guru was or how He could help me in times of trouble. I cried out, “Datta, help me!” I felt a physical jolt and some unknown power flowed in and steadied my hands at the wheel. The panic drained away and I found I could concentrate intensely on rounding each snowy curve of the road. The mountains gave way to foothills and finally to flatlands until I arrived safely at my destination.
