I recently helped to coordinate one of Baba’s Grace Light events. I had only recently come to Baba’s teachings and had been practicing his mantras and meditations for a good part of the last year, and I jumped at the chance to help to bring Baba to the city where I live.

In the course of promoting the event I found my experience of Baba deepening. I kept noticing odd things about his presence in his videos. He looked so different in some videos and sometimes I could sense a brilliant, almost blindingly bright Light in him. I came to realize through recalling certain happening in my youth, that I had been waiting my whole life for the coming of the Grace Light. My heart began to open up to Baba as I began to realize his true nature and Identity.

As the time of the event neared, I came to realize that Baba really was my Guru - the Heart of my heart. I realized that I needed to completely surrender myself to Him. I prayed fervently to God and Baba to help me to empty my heart of all earthly thoughts and desires, so that I could be filled with the Love and Grace Light of God and Guru - for I had realized that they were one and the same. I knelt and prostrated myself before God and Guru, offering my heart, my entire being, to only do Their Will, and I was sincerely ready to wait a million lifetimes more for that to be so. I was absolutely committed without condition.

The event went smoothly, Baba entered and gave his talk and went through the Grace Light meditations. I sat in the audience my eyes fixed on only Him. “I am yours! Have mercy on me, Baba! Fill me with your Light!” I prayed from the depths of my emptied heart.

During the Grace Light meditation, when Baba pronounced the password for the naval chakra I felt an incredible wave of energy ripple across the room striking me there. At some point I felt transported to a shore across an inconceivably bright Ocean of Light, where I was together with Baba and God in the Light. Baba was the same Light from Head to Toe as well as His garments - like the light of a million suns.

After the event, Baba rose from his seat and left the room. I was at peace. I had seen my Guru and I would wait with empty and open heart for whatever may come. I noticed that my hands and various places corresponding to the chakras, especially the naval chakra were buzzing with incredible activity. My hands tingled and buzzed as if I had just slapped them against a hard surface.

The next morning, I found an invitation to breakfast with Baba waiting for me in my email. My heart leaped! My Guru was calling me. On wings of Joy I made my way back to the hotel where I met Baba and two of his devotees. I wanted to throw myself on the ground at His feet, but everyone began immediately moving towards the restaurant.

I sat across from Baba, amazed at the divine fortune that had brought me here. “Look at him. He’s blissed out,” Baba joked and smiled, “He can’t eat.”

“I am with my Guru,” I said, “What more could I possibly need?” I didn’t want to do anything but to bask in His Divine Radiance. We talked about many things - the work that I was doing, the various obstacles and difficulties I had been dealing with in my life. In the end, Baba said that these were all in the past now. Such a weight was lifted from my being, and I was profusely thankful to Baba and told him so. He got up and told me to try to eat something, and to meet him in the lobby shortly.

I was buzzing all over from head to toe and my appetite just wasn’t there. Who needs food when one is spending an hour with the Divine? I tried to eat some more bites of food, but I could barely get myself to swallow anything.

By the time I got to the lobby, Baba was standing out front with two other devotees who were helping him with the Grace Light tour waiting for the cab to the airport. They waved me out to join them. I went out and bowed once again to Baba, putting my hands together and thanking him for everything. He smiled and seemed to be concentrated off in thought, then he turned to me and said, “Give me your hand.” I held out my right hand palm up for Baba. He put his right hand over mine and then he brought his fingers and thumb together. Then he rubbed his fingers across his thumb and vibhuti, the sacred ash, dropped out of thin air onto my palm. As he was materializing the vibhuti onto my hand, I saw with my inner eye incredible energy and light pouring into my hand, and then it seemed as if there were countless gold coins flowing into my hand. Standing there with the palmful of Baba’s sacred gift of vibhuti, he instructed me, “Use this every day.”

I closed my fingers over my palm and Baba and his companions got into the cab and drove off. I just stood there as if in a daze. Not only had I finally met my Guru, but I had received a nearly indescribably special blessing, and had witnessed a miracle of manifestation few eyes have probably ever seen.

When I returned home from my breakfast with Baba, I found an email waiting for me in my inbox, that continued the magic of my morning. I had recently emailed a friend who was having some problems with an infection in her ear, and I had told her that she might like to use some vibhuti as I understood it had miraculous powers - but I didn’t say anything about Baba in relation to it. This friend had emailed me back a mantra that she had found related to vibhuti, and it described almost exactly what I had just experienced with Baba. This is what she sent:

“Vibhuti Mantra

Paramam Pavithram Baba Vibhuthim
Paramam Vichithram Leela Vibhuthim
Paramaartha Ishtaartha Moksha Pradhaanam
Baba Vibhuthim Idham Asrayami
Meaning:
I take refuge in the supremely sacred Vibhuthi of Lord Baba, the wonderful Vibhuthi, which bestows salvation, the sacred state which I desire to attain.

Flowing From His Blessed Hand, Holy Creation
Granting Us The Greatest Wealth, God’s Divine Protection

Not that I needed any more validation or confirmation of my experience, but it is always nice to get another nod and wink from the Divine whenever possible. One thing I wanted to share with you all is that I have come to realize that Baba IS the vibhuti - not just the vibhuti that He gave me, but all vibhuti. I can’t more highly recommend that you get vibhuti and use it every day, calling upon the blessings of Dattatreya Siva Baba and asking Him to have mercy on you.

Throughout the day of my breakfast with Baba, my hands and the chakras were buzzing with activity as the shakti coursed throughout my being. I realized I was seeing energy around people and objects, and when I looked out across my yard I noted the filaments of light connecting all life together.

Over the next few days, it was as if Baba had planted a tree of miracles in my life that had instantly grown to maturity, blossomed and borne fruit - miraculous fruit. My relationship with my spouse began to change instantly for the better. They were full of joy and happiness and have been every day since. Money and almost ridiculously fortunate opportunities have come up for both my spouse and myself, in multiple places in just a relative handfuls of days since receiving Baba’s blessing, but I have to say that everything pales before the glory of letting Baba into my heart. He only asks for our unconditional Love so that He can shower His infinite Grace upon us.

It is my sincere wish that you all receive the blessings and grace of Dattatreya Siva Baba.
