Yesterday, my daughter and grandchildren and I were driving to a beautiful park and couldn’t wait to get there. I was driving just a teeny bit too fast for a moment, and had glanced at my speedometer and was putting my foot on the brake when I saw flashing lights in my rear view mirror. I said “Oh, he is going to pull me over.” And the police officer did. He said “do you know why I am pulling you over?” and I said “yes, I was going too fast.” He said “yes, do you know how fast you were going?” and I said “yes, 48 mph.” He said yes, that is right, 48, and do you know what the speed limit is? and I said “yes, 35.” And he said “right.” I said I was just slowing down when I saw him. He then asked for my car registration papers.

Well, of course I have papers, lots of papers, which year, though, I had 2006, 2007, 2004, where was 2008. Finally, I found the current papers and he went back to his patrol car. Meanwhile, my grandson said “grammy, I am getting a little nervous.” I said, “Don’t worry, honey, grammy is not going to get a ticket.” I got out my purse and pulled out my Vibhuti packet with Baba’s picture on it, and felt blessed immediately. I put some vibhuti on my third eye. My daughter, Eva, said “Mom, he will think you are weird.” I said “No, he won’t.” I rubbed the Vibhuti in a little bit more. The police officer returned to my car without a ticket and scolded me a little bit in a very nice way, and told me to be careful and watch my speed. I promised him that I would drive carefully. Off we drove and went to the park, very slowly.
