I was having a birthday lunch with some friends/Datta devotees who were leaving for India in five days. I didn’t have the money to go, but very much wanted to. So I prayed for a miracle. Half an hour later, I was on my way home when I received a phone call from a devotee who was not at that lunch. She asked me if I wanted to go to India. When I replied yes, she told me she would lend me the money and she had already paid for the program … all I needed was spending money. I had never previously spoken to her about going to India, nor had I asked her in any way about a loan.
From only wishing, but without having the means to get to India, six days later … I find myself in India.

Now I am at Datta’s ashram in the group is asked if anyone wants a Siva nadi so of course I put up my hand. I was still relatively new in this experience and did not know what to expect. In this Nadi reading I was told about “some activities that I was carrying on of which no one suspected and that I was very adept at making secretive plans.” This was all quite true as no one in my group, none of the devotees knew of my activities. I had gone to great lengths to ensure that absolutely nobody knew what I was undertaking, because it was essential to my well-being that it be kept secret. It was all very shocking to me. As if the Lord had been videotaping my activities and was now revealing them to me. So that I understood He knew.

Finally, having no prior knowledge that there would be a Nadi reading available, there was several of us who were short funds to pay the Nadi Guru. Some of my travel companions were concerned, but after the experience I just had I confidently remarked, “Siva would not have brought us all this way for a reading we didn’t know we’re getting and then stiff us.” Sure enough, some others in the group whom we had never met before came to know of our predicament and offered to lend us the necessary money, which could be paid back whenever we were able to.
