I was doing a volunteer service that someone had asked me to do. At one point a person came up, stood close to me and began talking to me. I started feeling uncomfortable, like I should step back away from the person. The understanding suddenly flashed into my mind that the person was trying to bulldoze me out of the way and take my place. Then I thought, “But I don’t want to be blasted out of the way, I want to stay here and do what I was doing.” I then remembered the Vel was sitting in my purse, between me and the person. In the very instant I wordlessly remembered that beautiful, luminous Vel, the person immediately backed off, became cordial, and then left.
