My kitty George at age 17 began approaching the end of his time in the physical in Dec of 2006. He always enjoyed listening to my cd’s of Dattatreya Siva Baba’s chants and teachings. In fact I play them all of the time and he would frequently place his paws on the cd player- perhaps to enjoy the Divine vibration even more. He enjoyed joining me for my spiritual practice rituals and particularly liked having me use a lemon and vibhuti on him.

I had a sense that it was getting close to the time for him to “go”. Then, he went into a period of “meditation” without eating, drinking, or normal bodily functions, sitting upright with his front paws curled under him. This lasted for approximately 10 days and I expected to come home and find that he had passed on any day. On the 10th day, I came home and found him waiting at the door proclaiming very loudly that he was hungry and wanted something to eat right away. I had been playing the Thiru Neela Kantam cd 24/7, while he was in his “meditation” mode.

George kitty had lost quite a bit of weight from his “fasting/meditation” period and ate and drank heartily afterwards regaining some of his lost weight. Later, he went into a “meditation period” again, and when he ended his fast his eating habits changed to liking only milk and string cheese. Next he went blind in his left eye with it turning totally white and then 2 weeks later he went blind in his right eye as well. Now totally blind I had to help him with everything and hand feed him. I kept praying that he should go with ease and grace. George was a ferral cat when I first adopted him and absolutely terrified of vets.

I went to a Datta event in Mexico. On returning from Datta’s event’ George’s sight had returned in his right eye and then approx 3 days later in his left eye. Both eyes returned to their original golden color!Now I had him sleeping with a picture of Datta’s feet, and continuted the mantras, lemon and vibhuti. His time to go eventually came and he departed easily, curled up as if sleeping and his fur which was dry and lacking luster returned to as it was when he was younger. He was peaceful with no evidence of any suffering and it was difficult to realize that he was really gone and not just sleeping. Thank-you Datta!!!

Not too long after his passing ,I was looking at a pet supply website at kitty pictures and all of a sudden Datta’s teaching on “Arut Perum Joyti” appeared on the computer screen before me. I know in my heart that Datta helped George pass on with ease and grace and that Datta is working Divine Miracles in my life and the lives of others every day!!! OM DRAM DATTATREYA SIVA BABA SWAHA!!!!! Thank-you for these awesome miracles!!!!
