There had been a long history of domestic violence, stalking and bullying from my father which resulted in my parents’ divorce and my estrangement from him for almost ALL of my adult life. A lot of it enforced by Legal rulings. The cost of not having him in my life was enormous in terms of my own suspicion towards men, the fact that I have never married and being fearful in general.

But because he was my father, I tried to at least have some closure with him in the last 5 years, especially when my mother died. This cost me tremendously as my siblings were opposed to this and would not speak to me either! Once I renewed the contact, my father resumed his stalking and visiting me at inconvenient moments and at any time of the day or night. I prayed to Dattatreya Siva Baba to help me find a solution to this problem and to guarantee the safety of my family and myself.

Miraculously one day, my sister announced to me that we should go and visit Dad as she felt there would be no time left for him (how strange to say this). As time progressed, we got to a point with him where we could go and have contact BUT on our terms. The monumental thing was my younger brother then visited my Dad with me after 19 years of absence. My Father then realized the family he had pushed away.

Shortly after that, Dad died and we gave him a decent burial. I am tearful as I say this, but not only did it help all of us have peace and closure, we also inherited some money out of it (which was a bonus). When I went to India I performed an ancestor’s ritual for my deceased parents to have peace in the afterlife.
