I am so grateful that I have had some amazing dreams with Datta. One of the most memorable ones was one of the 1st very, very powerful dreams soon after I had just met Datta at a seminar and was beginning to study His teachings.To start off I must explain that I am basically the biggest chicken in the world. I have always been afraid of scary things and avoid them if at all possible, and still do. The dream was set in a forest/cave like location. I was walking around the Stations of the Cross in my dream, as I used to as a young child during lent time (since I come from a very Roman Catholic background and we did ALL the pre-Easter requirements back then). In the dream, however, the stations were really cool as it was in a forest which was very peaceful and not like the depressing ones on the church walls. I was at the very first station and just beginning to make the rounds when this figure appeared in front of me in a white gown. It looked like Jesus but as I looked closer I saw that it was Datta. I was very happy to see Him as I always am and smiled back to say I Love you.

In my dreams with Datta we do not have to speak as Datta knows every thought and there is no need. We were at a station where there was this beautiful, incredible huge tree. It is still so clear in my mind. The tree was so large and as the two of us stood before it, Datta pointed into the tree, smiled in His beautiful gentle way and said “It is time to come now.” I knew that He meant that we should go into the tree together and that this really meant that it was time for me to make a commitment to move forward in my life with Him. I looked back at Him, being the absolute chicken that I am and said “But I am scared!”. He compassionately responded, “It’s okay. There is nothing to worry about, I will take care of everything.” And my panicked, chicken response this time was, “No, but you don’t understand I am really, really scared! No one supports me and I am afraid to do this on my own!”

In my life at the time I was the only one on this journey with Datta or ‘spiritual seeking’ for lack of a better words. All the people close to me were against what I was doing (seeking that there must be more to life than this crazy rat race) and they just wanted to keep living their mundane lives. It made them very nervous that I was reflecting and searching within myself for more, as I was becoming more aware of my patterns and behaviors with them too. Most people don’t like change and I couldn’t get it fast enough! Needless to say, I had no support and in fact growing resistance from all my closest ‘friends’ and most definitely my family. Not that this is at all unusual for anyone looking to move forward with personal development.

nce again Datta reassured me “Don’t worry, everything will be okay. I will protect you. You can do it. It is time.” So I nervously looked at Him with “HELP” screaming from my eyes and said “okay.” and with that I held His hand and we both Jumped into the tree together! Instantly I woke up and felt this incredible joy and peace all the same time. I felt a tingling all throughout my body. Knowing that Datta was now with me forever to protect me no matter what. I lay there just feeling the bliss, peace and joy for I am not sure how long. But I floated through the rest of the day and was so grateful that my journey had really begun with Datta.

It was several years later and I was on my first India trip with Datta. I was talking to Vagee on the bus and told her about the dream. She said “My dear, that was the wishing tree that you saw in your dream. It happens quite often in people’s dreams or visions, it is a real tree in India at a temple. In fact we are going to be going to the temple that has the tree on this trip.” I could not believe it, the tree in the dream actually was real and I was going to see it. Now was that the coolest thing or what? So we did go to the temple and the moment I saw it, it was the exact tree from my dream: Every detail was the same. Even the spot that Datta and I jumped through. It is called the wishing tree because you put your wishes into the tree and they will all come true! So, I hugged the tree in gratitude (you see I have always been a tree hugger as one of my main passions in my life is the environment) that day and put my wishes into the tree and year-by-year they are all coming true.
