One Saturday morning I woke up around 5 am and felt Saturn yelling at me (Note: Saturn is a form of Lord Siva). He has done this time and time again and I have come to recognize his energy. It was overwhelming – I felt barely able to breathe. I knew I could despair and become depressed, as this has been my reaction more often than not. It’s such a typical human response – to assume the negative. However, this time, I surrendered. I sat up and I lit a candle in front of Dattatreya Siva Baba’s picture. Then I offered this prayer: “Whatever you want me to be – private or public – I only want to serve you”. At that moment, Lord Siva appeared in front of me. He smiled and walked into my heart. He sits there still.

Since that moment, I see Siva everywhere. It’s subtle, but He is the backdrop for everything that I perceive – with eyes open or shut. All is Siva. Siva is all.

The next weekend I was focusing on my heart and I felt a message from Siva. “Anything done with ego will not be successful. Think of the success of others and they will succeed. Wish them love, happiness, and enlightenment. That is your greatest opportunity. Don’t worry – you’ll be taken care of.”
