When I was a newly single mother (in process of divorce), there were many challenges, not least of which was not having enough money and trying to earn some quickly and raise a 4-1/2 year-old daughter. Also, I was a dancer/choreographer and making a living teaching classes: not very lucrative, really, although somewhat satisfying. I was in pain, extreme pain, and cried a lot at night in my bed because I did not want to cry in front of my baby. I would cry to God and Jesus my Savior to help me, to forgive me, to save me from this pain.

It was the summer of 1972. During that time, I had the experience in prayer of God taking away the world and then I somehow entered His World through some kind of doorway or something, and being lifted into a Light that never ended. It was a beautiful Light that I knew was God. It was combined with a beautiful sound and God’s Spirit making everything right for me. It lasted for quite a long time, like maybe 10 minutes or so. This wonderful experience of Divine Love happened to me a few times over the next number of years. It has given me hope to keep looking for God. I have not really had a recreation of that experience in many years, but I will not forget it. Now, as I meditate, I feel Datta is blessing me to find this Light again, but in a way that it will stay with me. I have faith in this Light and know that Datta is that Light.
