Whenever I carry Vibhuti  (sacred ash) in my pocket, it attracts people who need it. It’s uncanny! The other day, I consciously put a packet of Vibhuti from SivaBaba.org in my pocket and then went for a walk with my dogs. A lady I had been actually been avoiding somehow walked up to me without me seeing her; she tells me how much pain she is in. It felt as if she had been drawn to me like a magnet.

Out came the Vibhuti, I handed it to her and told her how to use it and she was totally grateful for it. She wanted it and she will use it. It was as if Nature literally put her right next to me, despite my intention to avoid her. I could see her sorrow and her pain and I hugged her and she was lifted right out of it.

I want to always have a Vibhuti packet on hand to give out. It seems to call people to it. One time, I was just quietly standing in the checkout line at the grocery store, and the checkout person just blurted out to me his sorrow at his girl friend having a cancer surgery. I gave him some Vibhuti and he was grateful for it and glad to have it. He said it was an answer to a prayer.

This story about Vibhuti which will make you laugh: four months ago, my washing machine broke. I was so annoyed: I had laundry to do and I didn’t want to spend money on a repair. The diagnostic panel code said the starter switch needed replaced. The repair would cost several hundred dollars, because the whole machine would have to be taken apart to replace the switch.

So, I tried and tried and tried to make it start. It refused to. So, I got a bright idea: I sprinkled some Vibhuti  on my washing machine and said “Om Dram Dattatreya Siva Baba.” I rubbed Vibhuti on the outside of the switch and then sprinkled it around the machine and asked the washing machine to start. Then, I pushed the switch! It started! It worked perfectly and didn’t stall.  Four months later, the washing machine still starts just fine and it hasn’t failed since.
